During the 2nd Friday ArtWalk, join us for a pop-up exhibition of artists’ books by Black artists, illustrators, and photographers from the Sloane Art Library collection, part of UNC Libraries. Chat with art librarians and see works up close from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Presented in connection with the Ackland’s current exhibition Modern Black Culture: The Art of Aaron Douglas, which features several examples of book and magazine illustrations by Harlem Renaissance modernist artist Aaron Douglas. The Museum galleries will remain open until 9 p.m. tonight!

Starting this month, enjoy Twilights on the Terrace during the Ackland’s summer 2nd Friday evening hours, featuring a pop-up bar by Craftboro Brewing! Craft beer, sparkling lemon- and limeade, and snacks will be available for purchase from 5-8 p.m. Relax outside on our Terrace while you explore the new playful outdoor installation pARC by The Urban Conga.
