Not unlike The Shining\, this film imparts a vivid feeling of confinement in a single\, snowy\, remote setting that dominates the narrative. Bates’ performance earned her Best Actress at that year’s Academy Awards. This film will frighten you but will also inspire grins and laughter. King has called it one of the best adaptations of his work\, which suggests that it captures his intended tone.
