Join us for a free virtual conversation about Peace, Power & Prestige, with exhibition curator Dr. Susan Cooksey (Curator Emerita of African Art, Harn Museum of Art) and Dr. Victoria Rovine (Professor of African Art History, Department of Art and Art History, UNC-Chapel Hill).

Learn about highlights of this exhibition, which explores the roles of metal objects in sustaining, unifying, and enhancing life in African communities while demonstrating the aesthetic and expressive power of metal arts. The exhibition of over 140 pieces includes a diverse range of iron, brass, bronze, gold, copper, silver, and alloyed works created by artists in Sub-Saharan Africa between the twelfth and twenty-first centuries.
