Blow Painting with Straws by the Artful Parent

Inspired by the American Abstraction of the 1960s section of Drawing Attention, try out this simple yet exciting activity! Supplies needed: paper, watercolor paints, straws, and lots of air!

Textured Landscapes by the Children’s Museum of San Jose

Create a drawing inspired by a landscape that recreates texture through the use of lines! Get inspiration from two works in the Ackland: Jean Metzinger’s “Landscape” and Max Liebermann’s “Village Scene”.

If you’re in the galleries, don’t miss Pierre Bonnard’s “Landscape” as an example of creating texture with lines!
